And maybe something like the mud that appears after rainfall would add to it

This mod won't add mud to the ground itself. However it can be set up to watch for mud densities, so it would work if the map has it..

The Dirt-Filltype added by the Dirt Fill Station mod will also activate the mud particle system if it is raining.. - So you can spread it around how you like and have mud and bumpy areas where ever one desires.

dev update

This mod is heavy under construction, the Dirt Fill Station mod will most likely be combined with this as "Mud" the fill type has been created which you can create by watering down a pile of dirt. Any water trailer will work but a special one is now included which has a water particle system to simulate the flow of water out the back (plus extras). The mud will then active the MudFX system (particles, sinking into ground) regardless of rain. This way any map can have mud placed wherever one desires since theres no map editing needed. When raining the fields will become sinkable and also activate the MudFX system, along with dirt terrain...

-Unlike most wheel particle systems which use the vehicle's speed for particle speed, these particle systems use each wheel's speed which allows them to be active if the vehicle is stuck and the tires are spinning..

more pictures coming soon..

Crawlers

Post by Viper » Sun Jun 23, 2019 6:13 am

Thanks for the motivation. Currently working on crawlers.

You may have noticed that there is no reverse particle system in the game when driving on dirt with crawler tracks. This is because there is no "Track Length" for crawlers which can be used as an offset from the rear. Using a general scale of [Track Width * 3] a reverse mud particle system is added for MudFX. (Longer tracks seem to still look okay due to the the length of flow from the ps.)

-The front of the vehicle will also be sunken when crawlers are working properly..

-Note that the mud color from "Real Dirt Color" isn't present due to testing with a fake rain which doesn't activate the mud color.
